A Light at the End of the Tunnel

For the last several months, I have been searching for the perfect writing course to take in 2015. I settled on, CRAFTING THE TRUE STORY: An Exploration Of Creative Nonfiction at Madeline Island School of Arts in Wisconsin.

It’s a scenic island community that is a ferry ride away from Bayfield, Wisconsin. Their website describes it as a restored dairy farm, situated in a peaceful prairie meadow setting. Madeline Island is unrivaled with its breathtaking views of other Apostle Islands, sea caves, beaches, and clear blue waters with bright skies.

The course is in June 2015, and the instructor is Jacqui Banaszynski. She is a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist who has coached hundreds of writers.

In the coming weeks, I’ll be scoping out all the activities in the Madeline Island/Bayfield area to maximize my time. If you’re from the area or have been to this school, I would love to hear about your time spent there.

Registering for this course has been a little boost to my psyche. The cold weather and the dark days can be a little depressing, but now I gave a light at the end of the tunnel.

Today’s Haiku:

my gaze turns away…
a girl riding the train
cries alone

Do you have any vacations planned for 2015?
