Prickly Spines

Monday is here already. May it bring you many smiles!

If you recall, last week I used a haiku rule created by the website AhaPoetry. The site provided a variety of elements to use when writing a haiku. Today I selected #42 which suggests avoiding all reference to yourself in the haiku. Here goes…

cactus flower haiku

in dry, sandy earth
the cacti grows prickly spines—
blooms orange in sunshine

  1. When I write poetry it is for the same reason I write anything – something has inspired me to write it. So I try to get that inspiration out.
